Last Saturday we celebrate my Nurul’s birthday. She is now 9 years old. Actually her birthday is suppose to be on Sunday 29 March, but because I have PLUMS class on Sunday, we celebrate it earlier. It was just a simple, family-only, birthday party. The menu : Fried chicken, spaghetti, pizza, nasi beriyani and beef curry. The attendees : Ida and family, Ipah, Ijul, Auntie Zaiton n hubby. Yup that’s all.
I can still remember when I gave birth to Nurul 9 years ago. One week before that, my friend Az came all the way from Manchester to pay a visit.
We were in Glasgow back then. Hubby n I enrolled ourselves to the pre-natal class which was very helpful especially for first time mother like me. Away from the family makes me feel kecut perut. How lah mau berpantang tempat orang. It was at the end of summer. Tuesday - My class finish at around 4 pm as usual. After class I went to the pre-natal class. That night while watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, my water broke. Panic, we called kak Ratna then our neighbour kak Jah. Both do not have the experience of having water broke. They advised to go to hospital instead. We went to the hospital around 8 pm, but the doctor said it’s better for me to wait at home until the contraction start. So, we went home. The next day still no sign of contraction. Went to the hospital at 5 pm and was induced. 7 pm, I started to feel the pain. The nurses and doctor were very kind and helpful. 9 pm, second stage of labour. I took gas and painkiller injection. Sakit siuut. Repeatedly I recite whatever ayat Quran yg terlintas di fikiran. Boleh pulak ayat ni terpacul “Lai, mengkali begini lah sakit kalau mo mati”. High. Maybe because of the effect of morphine for painkiller. 11.57 pm, our Nurul arrived. She weighed 2.9 kg. 2 weeks earlier than my due date.
We were hospitalized for 1 week because she was suspected infected. It was really sad to see doctors took blood samples from her tiny feet. They injected her antibiotics for several day. Because she was exclusively breast fed, and my milk was so slow, she was the loudest baby in the ward. Tensionnya..especially when the visiting hour came and nobody visited me. I cried together with Nurul. How I wish my parents were there. The next Saturday, most of the Malaysian family visited us. At least it chased away my sadness. We went home after one week at the hospital.
It was priceless experience. No matter what, family is irreplaceable. How I wished my mom was there that time.
I would like to thank especially my beloved hubby for being there as my confinement ‘lady’, through the hard and happy time bringing up our children. Of course to our parents. Although I don’t say it in words, but I do really love you both, ayah and mummy.
Eh, mcm salah topik plak. By the way, Happy birthday my dear princess Nurul. I will always love you, my unconditional love. Forever.

Cair bedak aku.
(neraka).
Lepas tu bleh pulak dia teriak “ooii bila nak jalan ni..mekap dioarang semua nak cair”.
sambil tunggu, gambar dulu.. (courtesy of yatt punya camera)
wah ada pulak mamat sesat di tengah2 aweks
(pinjam gambar yatt lagi)
Color apa lah agaknya baju tahun depan?
Dearest blog.. this one is just a quicky.. before I forgot to jot down what’s I want to say.
Me : What?

Yeah I know, the school holiday is over. And today most of us felt this is the worst Monday ever, after a very long break. So, where did you spent your holiday? For me, I have planned to have a one week break from work. I need to spend some quality time with my children too.
The school holiday start with a fun escape to Beringgis Resort on Friday. Fun for my children lah, but for us the CS program we need to finish the MQA documentation. We spent 2 nights there for the retreat. Once arrived, it was raining. The kiddos can’t wait for the rain to stop, they straight away go to their favourite spot.. the swimming pool, of course.
That night we worked very hard. After dinner, we were discussing and refining the document until midnight. It was 12.15 am when I went back to our room. Kerja keras betul kami.
We continue the workshop the next day. My kiddos and my hubby spending most of their time in the pool. I can see they are having fun. Mingling with other CS kiddos, it was good interaction. Walau hujan, walau panas. They stayed in the pool, especially Nurul and Danish. I was quite shocked to see they were sun-burnt. I had asked them to apply the sun block but if you stay more than 3 hours under the sun, even the SPF 50+ can’t save it. Merah macam udang galah!
At last, we manage to finish and wrap up everything (the workshop) on Sunday. So, no PLUMS class that Sunday.
Photo? Next time ya, still in the memory card.
Psst –> I am writing the entry using Window Live Writer. A lot more easier lah. Thanks to Mimi for introducing me the tool.
How to say this number, 668 819 039 718.91? It’s 668 billion right? (Is it?)
Recently I received a forwarded email about Zimbabwe hyperinflation. Really, it is really bad. I can’t imagine the life when three eggs cost them 100 billion!
Taken from the email (with some alteration) :
What the real crisis is like!
If you think that the current economic crisis is something that has never happened in history before, you may be wrong! After the collapse of the agriculture sector in Zimbabwe in 2000, the inflation in that country skyrocketed to 231 million percent a year! Just think about it - 231 000 000%! Unemployment went up to 80% and a third of country's population left it.
Let`s now have a look at the photos that you may not be able to see anywhere else in the world.
Here is a boy getting change in 200 000 dollar notes!
One 200 000 dollar note equals less than $0.10 cents.
December 22nd, a new note of 500 000 dollars introduced to the market!
Next – 750 000 dolar
January – new note of 10 million dollar. Pakcik kayo! Wow he is millionaire!
This US $10 dollar note is 10 times worth more than the 10 million dollars Zimbabwe note.
I think this boy is going to buy himself a burger. What a pile of money.
A case worth 65 billion Zimbabwe dollars which equals to $2000 US dollars.
This guy is going to a supermarket. The exchange rate is 25 million Zimbabwe dollars for 1 US dollar.
But the inflation is still increasing in logarithmic scale. 50 Million note is then introduced!
Next is 250 million dollars.
Oh the t-shirt is so cheap. It’s only 3 billion dollars!
May - a note of 500 million dollars is introduced!
June - note worth 25 and 50 billion are printed. Maybe the only country that has billions note printed.
And finally - 100 billion dollars note! Yes.. you can only buy 3 eggs from your 100 billion dollar, sir!
Wonder how people bring money to the restaurants? And that’s the bill.
In August, the government devalued Zimbabwe dollar by removing 10 zeros from notes.
However, inflation kept going up and in September for this amount of cash you could only buy 4 tomatoes.
And for this - some bread.
And then it started again: 20 000 dollars note in September.
50 000 a couple of weeks ago!
At first, it seems unbelievable to have this situation. But when I googled it, yes it really happening. This is the summary of the figures of Zimbabwean Dollars. I took it from the Wikipedia.
I hope our government (whoever it is) will try to keep the inflation low. Please, let us (especially the leaders) focus to settle the economic problem rather than arguing to each other and name people this and that. I don’t want to buy nasi lemak that will cost me 1 billion ringgit!
