Mencanak-canak

"[Nekad Climatologist, 2009]

Once in a while saya pergi menjenguk blog saudara Naked Climatologist.

Sedangkan kami ingin mengeluarkan tenaga all out untuk symposium on the next day, terpaksa pula pergi ke kelas. Tidak mengapa itu sudah jadi tanggungjawab utama. Pelajar.

Happy Birthday my Princess

Last Saturday we celebrate my Nurul’s birthday. She is now 9 years old. Actually her birthday is suppose to be on Sunday 29 March, but because I have PLUMS class on Sunday, we celebrate it earlier. It was just a simple, family-only, birthday party. The menu : Fried chicken, spaghetti, pizza, nasi beriyani and  beef curry. The attendees : Ida and family, Ipah, Ijul, Auntie Zaiton n hubby. Yup that’s all.

I can still remember when I gave birth to Nurul 9 years ago. One week before that, my friend Az came all the way from Manchester to pay a visit.

We were in Glasgow back then. Hubby n I enrolled ourselves to the pre-natal class which was very helpful especially for first time mother like me. Away from the family makes me feel kecut perut. How lah mau berpantang tempat orang. It was at the end of summer. Tuesday - My class finish at around 4 pm as usual. After class I went to the pre-natal class. That night while watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, my water broke. Panic, we called  kak Ratna then our neighbour kak Jah. Both do not have the experience of having water broke. They advised to go to hospital instead. We went to the hospital around 8 pm, but the doctor said it’s better for me to wait at home until the contraction start. So, we went home. The next day still no sign of contraction. Went to the hospital at 5 pm and was induced. 7 pm, I started to feel the pain. The nurses and doctor were very kind and helpful. 9 pm, second stage of labour. I took gas and painkiller injection. Sakit siuut. Repeatedly I recite whatever ayat Quran yg terlintas di fikiran. Boleh pulak ayat ni terpacul “Lai, mengkali begini lah sakit kalau mo mati”. High. Maybe because of the effect of morphine for painkiller. 11.57 pm, our Nurul arrived. She weighed 2.9 kg. 2 weeks earlier than my due date.

We were hospitalized for 1 week because she was suspected infected. It was really sad to see doctors took blood samples from her tiny feet. They injected her antibiotics for several day. Because she was exclusively breast fed, and my milk was so slow, she was the loudest baby in the ward. Tensionnya..especially when the visiting hour came and nobody visited me. I cried together with Nurul. How I wish my parents were there. The next Saturday, most of the Malaysian family visited us. At least it chased away my sadness. We went home after one week at the hospital.

It was priceless experience. No matter what, family is irreplaceable. How I wished my mom was there that time.

I would like to thank especially my beloved hubby for being there as my confinement ‘lady’, through the hard and happy time bringing up our children. Of course to our parents. Although I don’t say it in words, but I do really love you both, ayah and mummy.

Eh, mcm salah topik plak. By the way, Happy birthday my dear princess Nurul. I will always love you, my unconditional love. Forever.

Maulidur Rasul 2009

27 Mac 2009
Cair bedak aku.

(neraka).

Lepas tu bleh pulak dia teriak “ooii bila nak jalan ni..mekap dioarang semua nak cair”.

DSC06873

wah ada pulak mamat sesat di tengah2 aweks

(pinjam gambar yatt lagi)

Color apa lah agaknya baju tahun depan?

Quicky

Dearest blog.. this one is just a quicky.. before I forgot to jot down what’s I want to say.

  1. You do realize the human crisis in Palestine is still happening, right? I asked this question to myh students yesterday and to my shocked they did not realize what’s happening in Palestine. I am not sure whether they are telling me the true or just don’t border to answer my question. And one of the student said,

Me : What?

2. My school and the MIMOS is organizing a symposium on Semantic Technology. If you are interested, pls visit this link http://www.mimos.my/semantic/.

3. I am watching the Spa Q2 telemovie. Today is the last episode. Ya, typical malay drama, but can’t help but to watch it coz it loads of full beautiful women. As the inspiration to lose weight bah! LoL.

School Holiday

Yeah I know, the school holiday is over. And today most of us felt this is the worst Monday ever, after a very long break. So, where did you spent your holiday? For me, I have planned to have a one week break from work. I need to spend some quality time with my children too.

The school holiday start with a fun escape to Beringgis Resort on Friday. Fun for my children lah, but for us the CS program we need to finish the MQA documentation. We spent 2 nights there for the retreat. Once arrived, it was raining. The kiddos can’t wait for the rain to stop, they straight away go to their favourite spot.. the swimming pool, of course.

That night we worked very hard. After dinner, we were discussing and refining the document until midnight. It was 12.15 am when I went back to our room. Kerja keras betul kami.

We continue the workshop the next day. My kiddos and my hubby spending most of their time in the pool. I can see they are having fun. Mingling with other CS kiddos, it was good interaction. Walau hujan, walau panas. They stayed in the pool, especially Nurul and Danish. I was quite shocked to see they were sun-burnt. I had asked them to apply the sun block but if you stay more than 3 hours under the sun, even the SPF 50+ can’t save it. Merah macam udang galah!

At last, we manage to finish and wrap up everything (the workshop) on Sunday. So, no PLUMS class that Sunday.

Photo? Next time ya, still in the memory card.

Psst –> I am writing the entry using Window Live Writer. A lot more easier lah. Thanks to Mimi for introducing me the tool.

Numbers

How to say this number, 668 819 039 718.91? It’s 668 billion right? (Is it?)

Recently I received a forwarded email about Zimbabwe hyperinflation. Really, it is really bad. I can’t imagine the life when three eggs cost them 100 billion!

Taken from the email (with some alteration) :

What the real crisis is like!

If you think that the current economic crisis is something that has never happened in history before, you may be wrong!  After the collapse of the agriculture sector in Zimbabwe in 2000, the inflation in that country skyrocketed to 231 million percent a year! Just think about it - 231 000 000%! Unemployment went up to 80% and a third of country's population left it.

Let`s now have a look at the photos that you may not be able to see anywhere else in the world.

Here is a boy getting change in 200 000 dollar notes!

noname

One 200 000 dollar note equals less than $0.10 cents.

one

December 22nd, a new note of 500 000 dollars introduced to the market!

two

Next – 750 000 dolar

three

January – new note of 10 million dollar. Pakcik kayo! Wow he is millionaire!

four

This US $10 dollar note is 10 times worth more than the 10 million dollars Zimbabwe note.

6

I think this boy is going to buy himself a burger. What a pile of money. 7

A case worth 65 billion Zimbabwe dollars which equals to $2000 US dollars.

8

This guy is going to a supermarket. The exchange rate is 25 million Zimbabwe dollars for 1 US dollar.

9

But the inflation is still increasing in logarithmic scale. 50 Million note is then introduced! 11

Next is 250 million dollars.

12

Oh the t-shirt is so cheap. It’s only 3 billion dollars!

 13

May - a note of 500 million dollars is introduced!

14

June - note worth 25 and 50 billion are printed. Maybe the only country that has billions note printed.

16

And finally - 100 billion dollars note! Yes.. you can only buy 3 eggs from your 100 billion dollar, sir!

17 18

Wonder how people bring money to the restaurants? And that’s the bill.

19 20

In August, the government devalued Zimbabwe dollar by removing 10 zeros from notes. 23

However, inflation kept going up and in September for this amount of cash you could only buy 4 tomatoes.

24

And for this - some bread.

25

And then it started again: 20 000 dollars note in September.

26

50 000 a couple of weeks ago!

27

At first, it seems unbelievable to have this situation. But when I googled it, yes it really happening. This is the summary of the figures of Zimbabwean Dollars. I took it from the Wikipedia.

zimb2

I hope our government (whoever it is) will try to keep the inflation low. Please, let us (especially the leaders) focus to settle the economic problem rather than arguing to each other and name people this and that. I don’t want to buy nasi lemak that will cost me 1 billion ringgit!

Salam Maulidurrasul

Selamat menyambut hari MaulidurRasul. Marilah kita bersama2 membaca selawat ke atas junjungan besar kita Nabi Muhammad S.A.W.

Menjadi contoh umatnya sepanjang zaman.

Happy Birthday our beloved Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.

AF or OIAM

The fever has came back.
One In A Million is season 3 now and Akademia Fantasia has survived to season 7!
Both are reality shows that have their own follower. But watching two episode of OIAM3, I think the contestant has their own strength. Amylea, Tomok and Pija of course have the advantages on stage. Their experiences, connection with the audience, the vocal too. Can believe Tomok also that versatile. Not forgetting Esther, she's in my favourite list. The rest also very compatative. Can't wait to see next week's episode.

For AF7, I am not sure. I read one of the article saying that none of the contestant has the powerful vocal or maybe it's too early to judge. Just wait and see, must be full of 'drama' and tears.

Lastly, I just want to share this video clip from OIAM3. It's a WOW! Can AF7 do like this?

Inspiration

Where do you find your inspiration? Especially when it relate to your job, I found it quite complicated. But when I think of my job as a teacher, most of the time I am easily inspired by the students. Not from all of them, of course. Ya lah, some of them are very annoying, you know.

But first and foremost, my family is my inspiration for me to continue being a good daughter, wife, mom, and sister. Hope I can inspire my kiddos to be a good person too.

Bloghopping to this website, and was regaled with the idea of inspiration and also the design. Wow.. he is sooo damn creative. I fall in love with his works.

Just see/watch the slides below and tell me that you are not amused. K, enjoy the slide (I know, it's 100++ page!)

Demam!

My Neneil (danial) can now say the word demam clearly. His vocab is increasing gradually, both Bahasa and English. Of course the English are from the square and colourful, Mr. TV.

Last night we went to Dr. A's clinic at the Likas Plaza. Neneil fever is approaching 38-39 degree celcius. He was too weak to enjoy his Barney's song, not even the Miska Muska, Mickey Mouse. He closed his eyes, but not sleeping. Some time, he called out his Ayah, with his soft and weak voice. Lemah betul dia semalam. So, after Maghrib we went to Likas. We reached there about 7.30 pm. It was early. The clinic will not open until 8 pm, but to our surprise the back door was open. So quickly we went inside. The makcik at the counter was shocked (sbb heran mcm mana kami bulih masuk).

Makcik : Eh, Dr. belum sampai lagi. Kami bukak pukul 8.
Me : Ya, ndak apalah. Saya mo register jak dulu.

So, after that we went to a kedai mamak downstair. I tried to give Neneil the fried rice. He only ate 2 spoon. That's good enough considering he has the blister in his mouth. Then, he drank kakak Nurul's Ice Milo. Hantam jak lah.. ais pun ais lah.. yg penting dia minum. Coz recently he refuse to drink milk.

Around 8 pm, I brought Neneil to the clinic again. The rest still membantai roti telur at the mamak's. The clinic was so packed of people. Heran.. dr manalah diorang dtg tiba2 menyerbu. While waiting, came a mother and a son sitting beside me.

Mom : Demam?
Me : Iya.
Mom : Dr sudah sampai?
Me : Belum lagi.
Mom : Dr selalu lambat kan?
Me : (Smilling)

Yes, when you come to this clinic you should be prepare of the situation of over crowded and although it said the clinic open at 8 pm, does not mean the doctor will be there at 8 pm. Sometime 8.30 pm still no show.

So why people keep coming to this clinic? For me because the Dr's treatment satisfies me. He will check his patients in detail. Care to explain, why this and that happen. What to do in case of emergency or high fever or baby fall head first or kena air panas etc. I always feel condifident and happy with his consultation. Also the medicine was good, I mean ngam with my family (although it was quite expensive compare to others).

Neneil got the antibiotic jag - one dose jag - so he doesn't need to take the antibiotic for the whole week. Because the fever is quite high, kena sumbat. Got medicine for his cough and runny nose.
Not long after that, he can lift his head and say bye2 to the makcik. Cepat juga kesan ubat tu aa..

Last night he slept well, all through the night. I checked his fever at the midnight, but it was reducing. Mudah2an anak ummi cepat sembuh.
