Next Step
Yes, 10 years for a promotion is a very very long time. Most of my friends are either furthering their studies or joining another line of career. There are several steps before you can apply for SL. It is not time-based promotion like teacher. Although you are eligible to apply (according to the marks you get from the CVOnline), but you still need to 1)confirmed and 2) pass the PTK. Besides, you also need to have a list of publications and social works too. I am really bad at documentation. So, there it goes some of my marks for social works. I can't remember many of the social works that I get involve with. One of my colleague said we need to score at least 80 marks for 3 years in a row for the SKT in order for you to be considered for the promotion. But if you get your DR, the promo is sort of automatic.
Why don't just go for phd then apply the post, then? Wohoo.. it's the money-matters, of course. I hope I can get the rise before 'jumping' to the phd thingy. I don't think I can afford to fly back and forth to KL with my current salary. Ikat perut lah tu..
The interview will be on next Thursday. So wish me luck! The candidates from our department applying for the same promotion is in quite a long list. And I really hope I am lucky. The competition will be tough.

New Look
Talking about the new look.. which one is better? This fancy kaleidoscope,
or this simple woody?
I prefer to have simple background. But I also love the fancy one! So, which one do you think look good on me (the blog, of course!)?

Diary
Sunday night - I thought he was acting weird.
We had made plans to meet
at a cafe to have some coffee. I was shopping with my friends all day
long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but
he made no comment.
Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so
we could talk, he agreed but his mind was far away. I asked him what
was wrong - he said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he
was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.
On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept
driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say,
'I love u, too.'
When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to
do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched TV; he seemed distant
and absent.
Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed.
I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him
with the situation but he had fallen asleep. I started crying and cried
until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do.
I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.
My life is a disaster.

Retreat @ Karambunai
It went well I guess. The room was great, the food were marvelous, the services was ok. Except for the 'waiting for the buggy'. The retreat it self was considered successful although so many things need to be put properly in place after the discussion. That brings to more work after retreat.. haiya..
After we went home, I got a head ache and sleep all the afternoon. Most probable the change in my eating and due to the aircond in the meeting room. Sapa suruh ndak bawa jaket.. Balik rumah terus demam. Thanks to hubby, he helped me with the back & foot massage and I felt great in the next morning. Thanks Lai!
I am not good at updating the pics. But hopefully I'll have time to post the pics here.

Back
I woke up early for my sahur this morning. I really miss the Ramadhan. I enjoy waking up early preparing for sahur, rushing home for berbuka and counting days to Aidilfitri. Now the Raya is at its 8th day, the festive mood is fading. There will be more open house during weekends, but I doubt I can make it coz we are too busy preparing for the MQA document (once again!).
This Friday, we will be off to Karambunai for (another) MQA retreat. Kerja sampai tengah malam lah tu. But for my kiddos, it means .. pool time! Alamat 'kunta' lah lagi diorang ni. Need to find where I put the sun block. Every time I need it, I always fail to find it. At the end I will buy a new one. Any recommendation for the best sunblock available in KK?
Ok, now I really need to start marking the mid-exam papers before another task start piling up. Alright blog.. don't miss me. I will sure be around.
Salam Aidilfitri!

Eid Mubarak 2009
First Raya we went to my BIL's new house for kenduri then went to my Aki's at Kg. Sentosa Jaya, Kinabatangan. This ias the only time where we can meet the cousins, aunts, uncles and Aki. The kiddos enjoy the visit too, especially when they meet their young uncles and aunts, well I am the eldest grandchild. So, you can imagine, my youngest cousin is 6 months.
Ok, gtg now. We are going to my uncle's house. Eid Mubarak friends!

Tinggal 9
Then, baru masak nasi. Kalau mau senang cerita, biasanya Misako masak mee goreng jak. Lagipun, hubby dan anak2 suka makan mee. Biasanya, Misako ndak masak byk2. Kalau sempat, singgah lah mana kedai beli lauk extra. Untuk sahur pulak, Misako kena siapkan bahan2 sebelum tidur. Bangun awal sket sekitar 3.30am utk masak sebelum kejutkan Hubby dan Nurul jam 4.00.
Kalau hari kerja, Misako akan stay up siapkan persediaan anak2 dan hubby selepas sahur. Kemudian terus p kerja paginya. Tapi kalau weekends, Misako akan tidur balik. Claim masa tidur yang ndak cukup sewaktu weekdays.
Terawih? Kemudian bila Danish dan Danial join the group, Misako susah sikit mo pigi terawih. Pernah jg dicuba, tapi hasilnya tidak berapa berjaya. Maklumlah, Danish tu mana mau duduk diam. So, Hubby saja yang pergi. Tahun ni, pun kami buat terawih di rumah saja. Itu pun, the boys sibuk jadi ultraman dan raksasa time kami terawih. Terpaksa Hubby kasi naik volume bila baca surah. :D
Oklah, cukup buat seketika mengubat rindu sang blog. Nanti Misako sambung lagi. Tuuu kerja2 pasal MQA memanggil-manggil minta disiap kan. Aduuh.. bila lah mo siap ni. Akhir kata, Selamat Hari Raya. Nanti Misako letak kad raya yer..
Tinggal 9 hari lagi kita berpuasa. Rasa sayu pulak hati meninggalkan Ramadhan. Ndak tau lagi kalau sempat merasa Ramadhan akan datang.

Tawaran Hebat!
So, don't forget to catch this special bonus. For this month only!
If you want to listen to the Al-Quran recite, Hubby found this one interesting website from Jakim. Way to go...
Last but not least, heard this from HotFM by Prof Izzi..
"Jika kamu menyambut Ramadhan dengan hati yg gembira, maka diharamkan ke atas kamu, api neraka". (I think it is from a hadith)
Marilah kita bersama2 memeriah bulan Ramadhan kali ini. Salam Ramadhan, Selamat Berpuasa!

The most sensible advise about H1N1!
"Friends,
Thanks to media hype about H1N1, several people who trust me have either approached or called me to advise. The hype in media about the utility of face masks and N95 respirators as a tool for general protection against H1N1 can't be deplored enough. Yesterday, a friend who listened wanted me to write down briefly what I advised so that he could tell others in similar words. Hence this short email to friends whom I have advised recently (and others whom I haven't yet). Please realize that this is not an official advice, especially the one about face masks or N95.
Most N95 respirators are designed to filter 95% particulates of 0.3µ, while the size of H1N1 virus is about 0.1µ. Hence, dependence on N95 to protect against H1N1 is like protecting against rain with an umbrella made of mosquito net.
Tamiflu does not kill but prevents H1N1 from further proliferation till the virus limits itself in about 1-2 weeks (its natural cycle). H1N1, like other Influenza A viruses, only infects the upper respiratory tract and proliferates (only) there. The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/ throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.
While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps - not fully highlighted in most official communications - can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):
1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).
2. "Hands-off-the- face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat or bathe).
3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.
4. Similar to 3 above, clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.
5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.
6. Drink as much of warm liquids as you can. Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.
7. All these are simple ways to prevent, within means of most households, and certainly much less painful than to wait in long queues outside public hospitals.
Happy breathing!
Best regards.
Dr.Ashutosh Mundkur "

Selsema oh.. Selsema
Seraaammm...
Cuti seminggu? Boleh lah berFB lama2 di rumah. hahaha.. Belum cuti lagi..tapi harap2 tidak lah ia menular teruk.

Merah atau Kuning?
Saya bukanlah seorang peminat MU mahupun sukan bola sepak. Bangga?
sekalipun ditenggelami penyokong MU.(Ihsan BHarian)
Bangga?
Tidak, tidak sama sekali.

Climb
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
I don't know, somehow I was touched by this song. Maybe the lyrics, maybe the song itself.
I don't know, everytime I listen to this song, it brings goose bump to me.
I hope I will get the strength to make my dream a reality.
The Climb lyrics
Songwriters: Alexander, J; Mabe, J;
I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking
Yeah, I will not breaking, Ya Allah berikan aku kekuatan.

Chicken Pox
Two days before we went back to KK, while changing Danial I saw some spots on his body. Alamak.. it was eventually Danial turns to kena. Luckily I brought the medicine. Apply the calamine lotion to reduce the itchiness and gave him ubat demam. So, not much jalan2 coz he is not feeling well and meragam.
It was quite a challenge when we were on the flight to KK. He keep crying and throwing all his tantraum. I am relieved when he fall asleep just before the meal came. He woke up 20 minutes to landing and continue his tebiat. Ndak tau lah apa org sebelah menyebelah cakap.. He was crying and crying. Kesian at the same time geram! I manage to calm him down showing his favourite cartoon on the screen - Upin dan Ipin.
Currently, I am on leave. Taking care dear Danial. He is recovering but the spots are so many. Especially on his face and his body. Kesian betul tinguk dia. Do you have any tips how to make the scar dissapear?

Visit
Quite a day.. my first visit, the jaga don't allow me to get in to the premise, a company at the Glenmarie. Sudah lah p sana sikit punya susah. I decided to take commuter to avoid the traffic jam.
Insiden 1
Dijadikan cerita, bila sampai d syarikat *tuut* tu, saya bertanyakan pada Pak Guard.
Misako : I am here to see Miss *tuuut*. She is expecting me.
Jaga : Oh there is no staff name *tuuut*.
Misako : I just spoken with her. She is a practical student here.
Jaga : Baru kaa lama?
Misako : Hmm baru lah juga.
Jaga : Tiada..tiada.. sini tiada ambil pekerja praktikal.
Misako : Baru jer saya cakap dengan dia through phone tadi. Tak pe lah, saya tunggu dia turun.
Then tried to call the student. Ndak tau lah apa malang nasib saya, 10++ kali saya call ndak pulak menyambut si student ni. Bengang.
Bila lalu kat depan jaga tu, dia kata
"Oooo ini pekerja lama.." Lama? 1 bulan tu lama ker?
Insiden 2
Visiting the last student of the day. Naik teksi dari Kelana Square ke Phileo Damansara.
Pakcik Teksi : Nak pergi maner?
Misako : Jalan Bersatu, Seksyen 13 PJ
Pakcik Teksi : Ok..
Sepanjang perjalanan tu, Pakcik ni sangat peramah. Macam2 dia cerita. Dalam hatiku, ok jugak pakcik ni. Bila mau sampai, dia kata tempat tu susah mo cari teksi. Dia offer utk tunggu tapi kena tambah RM10. Tapi saya kata saya tak pasti berapa lama.. may be 15 minit, maybe lagi lama. Sampai di company yg last ni, telefon pulak flat. Ndak dpt call student. So, try asking the receptionist. Dia pun kata tak da nama tu kerja kat company tu. Saya minta tolong dia check kat HR coz I come all the way from SABAH to meet the student. Saya pun tunggu. 10 minit. 15 minit. 20 minit. Tanya lagi. Dia kata kena tunggu HR check baru tau. 30 minit saya tunggu. I tried my phone, manage to tekan no. student tu before the phone flat. Luckily, student tu turun n check me at the lobby.
Sambung cerita pakcik teksi.
Dia kata lama dia tunggu. Saya pun crita lah serba sedikit. Bila sampai di hotel.
Pakcik teksi : Ok semuanya RM 35.
Misako : Aaa?? Tadi kata tambah RM10 saja.
Pakcik Temahak : Ya, kalau tunggu 15 minit tambah RM10.. ni tunggu dekat 1 jam.
Misako : (Boleh pulak macam tu, tadi ndak pun dia cakap) Mana boleh macam tu en. Macamana boleh jadi 35?
Pakcik temahak : Kena tambah RM25. jadi semuanya 35 lah.
Misako : (Gerammnyaaa... penipu punya pakcik). Minta resit.
Pakcik bikin panas : Alaa.. resit baru jer habis. Nanti mintak jer dengan teksi lain.
Misako : Sudah lah mahal, tak der resit pulak tu. (Bayar tambang sambil geleng kepala)
Haii.. memang aku sudah kena kencheng..Kurang asam punya driver teksi!

KL Trip
The last time my family and I went to KL was 3 years ago. That time we only have my Danish and Nurul. I am not expecting to face challenges in handling Danial on flight from KK to KL, but I was wrong. He did not want to sleep, nor sit calmly. During the take-off, he refuse to fasten his seat belt. As usual I gave them some drinks and milk, so that their ear can balance the air pressure during the take-off. The fasten-your-seatbelt-light was still on, but Danial wanted to go to hubby's seat which was at the other side of the aisle. Trying to calm him, I found some aeroplane pics from the inflight magazine. But not so long, he got down and sat at the aisle instead. I tried not to make him upset, or it will be troublesome to stop him from his usual tantrum. Luckily hubby bought some potato chips. So he munch them quietly. After that he was climbing the seat to see the boys at the back seat. Malas mo gaduh2, so I just let him standing on the seat.
We reach at the airport around 7.45 pm, and straight away to the taxi counter. The cashier girl said we need to take two cab because there are 5 of us. It cost us RM138. Bagus lagi naik hotel coach. Reach the hotel at 9 pm. Kiddos too tired to go to pasar malam, so cancelled the plan. Sampai bilik terus flat.
FunTastica!
If you were there, you would agree with me. At first, I were really worried that the reunion dinner will be quiet, boring and dull. It turned out to be absolutely the opposite. It was fun, exciting, full of laughter and memorable. Thanks to Adlin and Nurul. You both were the backbone. Nurul, you really make the dinner lively. Many thanks to friends that supporting the event. Although it was not as big as we wanted, but for me that was more than successful.
After 15 years leaving UKMS Matriculation, most of my friends look more gorgeous and beautiful. They are still the same, funny and full of interesting idea.
An entry from my dear Roomate here.
for the rest pics, you need to join our xUKMS FB group laa..
According to Adlin, Dr. D is asking for the next reunion! Good luck for the future organizer.

Mate forever!
This afternoon, I will fetch my mate (shorties for room mate) and her family at the airport. She will be here for the xUKMS reunion dinner tomorrow night. The last time I met her was 6-7 years back. During that time, I went to Kuching for 3 weeks training. We went to her parents house, makan2, and jalan2 around Kuching. Do you still remember it, mate?
She was my room mate during my matriculation at UKMS Menggatal campus. Although we only spent 1 year to know each other, it was like I know her for life! We went through good and sad memories. We share the same principles and at the same time fought for our own thought. Learn together and in the same KK1, also in the same study group. We went to jog together, lunch, dinner, and diet .. together. It is like a video tape playing in my head, right now. I really miss the memories.
Now after more than 10 years, we are about to meet again, with other xUKMS. I have a mixed feeling. Happy, excited, nervous and macam2. Hopefully I still can recognize you, mate. See you at the airport!

Bowling anyone?
After several years (more than a decade!), I went to bowl with my siblings and our ayah. I am not good at bowling, not even moderate. Asyik2 masuk longkang. But, this time it was special coz my ayah also join us. It was really fun. The cheering up, the excitement, the satisfaction. Next time, I will try to minimize the 'longkang' version.

Sorry, Out of service!
Last Friday night we went to the bank to pay my CC. Cut the story short, after I put the money into the machine, I heard the ‘counting’ sound. I wait for a sec. It counted again. But suddenly the screen shows a message. Waited again. No receipt.
What?!!! I panicked for a while. The people around keep asking what’s happening. The machine took my money without even saying thank you, apa lagi resit. So, how should I report this without any evidence of transaction? I tried to call the customer care centre. It was so complicated, need to press so many button before I get through to the officer. At first I kept pressing the wrong code/number, maybe because I was nervous+panic. Several customer at the bank offering some suggestion and help. One of them gave her phone number and she said she will contact her friend, the bank manager later.
After several attempt I finally got through to the right officer (customer care). I reported the incident and she took my particulars for authentication. She assured me that she will pass it to the bank, the process will be in 7 working day. 7 days? Punya lah lama! So, I decided to go to the bank first thing on Monday morning.
Trying to comfort myself, I thought as a computer programmed machine, the ATM should recorded the account number and the transaction on that particular time when I inserted my money. And if the ‘counting sound’ I heard earlier is really counting process, the transaction should be successful. Oh, ok… I will check my account again later.
This morning, before I go to the bank I re-check my account. Thank God, Alhamdulillah! The payment was successful! Syukur, Alhamdulillah! Next time, I will insist to pay through the counter, peduli lah tu org mo marah sy. Sometime ICT really can cause trouble!
Oh ya, if this happen to you.. you should need to have several information. First you need to call the customer care.
- The ATM ID
- Time of transaction
- How much money..
- Your account number (yg involved with the transaction)
- Your particulars

Left-handed
Since Danish was 2 – 3 years old, I realize he will be a lefty. He wrote, hold things and even eat using his left hand. No problem being a left-handed toddler, but as a kid going to school there will be more issues. Writing for example. Normally lefty’s handwriting is more smudgy coz the way we write English and Bahasa is from left to the right. It will be even worst if he is a sweaty person.
In our tradition, using right hand is always the right way. Especially when eating. To ask Danish to use his right hand to eat is very hard. He will use for the first 2 – 3 spoon but after that he will automatically switch to his left hand.

While browsing the Internet, I come across to an article saying that there is an NGO for Lefties in Malaysia. They even have their own blog; http://lefthandedmalaysia.blogspot.com. Some of the services are selling the left-handed scissors, pencil sharpener, mugs, etc. Especially design for the lefty.
Some interesting info from the blog:
- Spatial Thinkers - The thought processes of left-hander are dominated by the right hemisphere of their brain, which deals with non-verbal, visual, artistic and musical perceptions, as well as controlling the left side of the body.
- Left-handers are wired into the artistic right hemisphere of the brain which makes them imaginative, creative, witty, obsessive, infuriating, delightful and original but NEVER DULL
- Left-handers are twice as likely to qualify for MENSA, the high IQ society.
- Your sense of humor is in the left-hand brain. It is no accident that so many of the great comics have been left-handed....
